Women can be more effective when it comes to mediating disputes

Women should be used more often to mediate disputes, because they can sometimes be more effective.

That may not be something you often hear, but that's what Uganda's Vice-President Edward Kiwanuka Ssekandi believes.

He hopes, given time that the African Union can play a greater role in helping mediate disputes in the region.

Julie Walker asked Mr Ssekandi about resolving international disputes.
