Sex trafficking movie discussion at UN

promotion for The Whistleblower

A Hollywood movie about the alleged involvement of United Nations peacekeepers in sex trafficking in eastern Europe in the 1990s is being shown at UN headquarters on Friday as part of a discussion on sexual abuse and trafficking in war-torn countries.

The Whistleblower is a fictional account of events that are said to have taken place in Bosnia.

The movie follows American policewoman Kathryn Bolkovac as she uncovers a sex trafficking scandal involving peacekeepers and the very people they were supposed to protect.

Gerry Adams spoke to the film's director, Larysa Kondracki about how the trafficking of women began in Bosnia.
