Citizens should learn to adapt to climate change

As densely populated countries like India become more vulnerable to natural disasters, as well as climate change, governments and people need to be better prepared.

One such way is for citizens to better adapt to climactic challenges.

In India, the Sarista Foundation teaches the most vulnerable communities to reduce risks from disasters and impacts of climate change.

On the International Day for Disaster Reduction, Colonel N M Verma from the Sarista Foundation, explains how States should prepare themselves in the face of natural disasters.

“What I have been trying to tell at the international level is that national administrative and state administrative expenses and resources at local levels have to balanced and people who are most vulnerable should get more attention to prepare themselves.”
