Malaria-affected countries on course to eliminate disease

Eric Mouzin

The fight against Malaria is yielding results around the world.

A global report by the World Health Organization reveals that more and more states are taking the threat of malaria seriously.

Three countries, including Morocco, have completely eradicated the disease in the last four years.

WHO also says that nearly a third of all malaria-affected countries are on the path of eliminating it over the next decade.

Malaria is one of the deadliest diseases, particularly in Africa where an estimated 781,000 people die each year after contracting it.

Eric Mouzin of WHO spoke to Aditya Mehta.
