World Bank encourages women to "Think Equal"

women asking for equality

Women make up the majority of unpaid workers worldwide. Only 15% of landowners and one in five lawmakers globally are women. More girls are out of school than boys.

Violence against women is still widespread. With these facts in mind, the World Bank says it's time to increase women's economic opportunity and their voice in decision making.

A World Bank open forum, called "Think Equal" hosted in September looked at what changes need to be made in the world for women and men to be equal.

In the following feature, Georges Collinet of the World Bank specifically focuses on the women of Nepal and what needs to be done to increase their voices in decision-making.
