Progress in combating terrorism, but "more needs to be done"

Mike Smith

The international community has made enormous progress in dealing with the global terrorist threat, but there's still a long way to go, according to a senior counter-terrorism expert at the United Nations.

Resolution 1373 was passed just over two weeks after the Al-Qaeda attacks on the World Trade Center in New York.

Hou Cheng has been speaking with Mike Smith, the Head of the Counter-Terrorism Executive Directorate.
