Palestinians not backing down from UN statehood bid

One of the biggest issues on the agenda for the 66th United Nations General Assembly is Palestinian statehood.

The Palestinians have said they will ask the United Nations to recognize their statehood.

Israel has said it wants a Palestinian state, but only through bi-lateral negotiations. It has the backing of the United States. But, many other countries are siding with the Palestinians.
