British businessman urges end to travel restrictions on HIV-positive people

The prominent British businessman, Sir Richard Branson, has joined a global drive to get countries to remove travel restrictions on people living with HIV.

The Joint United Nations Programme on HIV/AIDS (UNAIDS) has called for the worldwide freedom of movement for people with HIV.

Endorsing the UNAIDS call, Sir Richard Branson said that everyone should have the chance to travel freely.

According to the agency, there are now 47 countries and regions that continue to impose some form of travel restriction on people based on their HIV status.
