A bomb blast in Indian High Court condemned by UN

A bomb blast that has reportedly killed 11 people and injured more than 60 others in the Indian High Court in New Delhi, has been condemned by United Nations Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon.

According to news reports, the bomb was placed in a case near a security checkpoint where people were queuing for passes on Wednesday.

Eduardo Del Buey is the Deputy Spokesman for the Secretary-General.

"The Secretary-General strongly condemns the bomb attack at the Indian High Court in New Delhi which has killed and injured many. The Secretary-General reiterates his firm stance that there is no justification for indiscriminate violence against civilians. He expresses his solidarity with the Government and people of India. The Secretary-General extends his sincere condolences to the families of the victims and hopes that the perpetrators will be brought to justice."
