Rights chief outraged at deliberate shooting of Syrian civilians

Navi Pillay

"Outrageous" and "shocking" are the words used by the UN human rights chief, Navi Pillay, to describe the deliberate killings of civilian protestors in Syria.

Ms. Pillay was referring to the findings of a fact-finding mission sent to investigate a violent crackdown of pro-democracy demonstrators by Syrian security forces.

Close to 2,000 people have reportedly died and scores injured since mid-March when the protests began.

The report is accused of being one-sided by some because the mission was not allowed to enter the country.

Navi Pillay sat down with Ben Malor to discuss the details of the report.
