Libyan people to receive urgent medical supplies

Health partners are preparing a detailed list of supplies required to continue supporting health facilities in Misurata.

The World Health Organization will receive 100 million euros of Libya’s frozen funds from the Dutch government to buy medical supplies.

The UN Security Council in February had imposed travel bans and asset freezes on Libyan leader Muammar Qadhafi, members of his family and his inner circle.

Low medical supplies, rising food prices and significant fuel shortages are among some of the challenges facing civilians in Libya's capital Tripoli.

WHO's Tarik Jaseravic says the organization is grateful to the Dutch government for this gesture.
