Former Kosovo fighter pleads guilty to contempt of court charges

A former member of the Kosovo Liberation Army (KLA) has pleaded guilty to contempt of court charges at International Criminal Court for the former Yugoslavia in The Hague.

ShefqetKabashi  is a key witness in the trial of Ramush Haradinaj, a former commander of the KLA and Prime Minister of Kosovo.

In 2007, Mr. Kabashi was charged with contempt of court after refusing or failing to answer questions while testifying in the case of Ramush Haradinaj others.

Mr. Kabashi and two co-accused are being re-tried for six counts of torture and murder of prisoners in the KLA-run camp in the village of Jablanica in 1998.

He was recently arrested by the Dutch authorities and placed in the Tribunal's custody.

Mr. Kabashi is a former member of the Kosovo Liberation Army and Mr. Haradinaj was his commander.
