Aid efforts in Horn of Africa need to scaled up further :UN humanitarian chief

Valerie Amos visited Kenya and Somalia on a three-day mission from 12 – 14 August to raise awareness for the most severe humanitarian crisis in the world.
Over three million people are on the brink of starvation in Somalia, says Under-Secretary-General for Humanitarian Affairs Valerie Amos.
In addition, more than 12 million across the wider region, which includes Kenya, Djibouti and Ethiopia, are in need of food and humanitarian assistance due to the effects of the worst drought in decades.
The UN humanitarian chief, who has just completed a three day visit to Somalia and Kenya, recently spoke to the press.
