"Terrible stories" from drought-stricken Horn of Africa

A desperate picture of the humanitarian situation caused by the drought in the Horn of Africa has been described by the UN's humanitarian coordinator.

Valerie Amos has just visited the region and has been talking of the "terrible stories" of human suffering that she came across.

The Horn of Africa is experiencing the worst drought in 50 years and eleven million people are in need of assistance. Alex King asked her about what she saw.
