"Significant step forward" in Darfur peace talks

An agreement signed between the Sudanese Government and the rebel Liberation and Justice Movement (LJM), has been called a "significant step forward" in the attempt to bring peace to the troubled Sudanese region of Darfur.

An estimated 300,000 people have been killed since conflict erupted in Darfur in 2003.

The Sudanese Government and rebel movement have been meeting in Doha, Qatar where they made progress on establishing the basis of a ceasefire.

Ibrahim Gambari, the head of the joint UN-AU mission to Darfur (UNAMID) was in Doha. Musi Khumalo asked him about the significance of the agreement.
