Liberia's peace huts are bringing justice to women

Liberian women gather inside a "peace hut", a women-run community court serving to resolve domestic disputes and dispense informal justice.

For 14 years, Liberia in West Africa was shattered by a bloody civil war. By 2003 it was officially over, but according to the United Nations, the legacy of violence continues.

Today, sexual violence rates remain high, with about 40 percent of rape victims being under the age of 12.

In this UN TV report, we hear how Liberian women are seeking justice for rape victims through what they call "peace huts".
