Horn of Africa faces worst drought in 60 years, say UN agencies

A new arrival from Somalia looks on as UNHCR chief António Guterres visits the Dollo Ado refugee transit centre in south-eastern Ethiopia.

Over 10 million people are facing severe food shortages in the Horn of Africa following the region's worst drought in 60 years. Both conflict and drought have been driving people to seek food and better circumstances.

Antonio Guterres, High Commissioner of the UN refugee agency UNHCR, recently visited Ethiopia and Kenya and has appealed for the international community to quickly respond to the crisis. Gerry Adams reports.
