Two Ethiopians working with the World Food Programme (WFP) have been safely recovered after going missing for nearly two months.

WFP says the two staff members are currently in Ethiopia's capital Addis Ababa where they are being treated and counselled.

They went missing on 13 May en route to Ethiopia's Somali region when their convoy was attacked by unknown assailants.

Their driver was killed and another member of the convoy was injured.

WFP says it has worked closely with the local authorities to ensure the safe return of the two employees.
