TB prevention to save one million lives by 2015

The deaths of one million people living with AIDS could be prevented if more resources are put into treating tuberculosis or TB.

The UN's Stop TB Partnership, says $790 million needs to be spent on preventative treatment and improved access to care for those lives to be saved.

Jorge Sampaio is the UN Secretary-General's Special Envoy on TB.

Daniel Dickinson asked him to explain the link between HIV and AIDS and TB.
