More torturers to be brought to justice
Torture is a serious international crime and more torturers will be brought to justice – sooner or later.
That's the message from the UN Human Rights Chief Navi Pillay ahead of International Day in Support of Victims of Torture, which takes place on Sunday.
Across the world, there are many national and UN-backed international courts dealing with crimes including torture.
But while the perpetrators of torture are being prosecuted what happens to the victims?
The UN Fund for Victims of Torture was established to meet the needs of those people.
Carlos Martinez asked Mercedes Doretti, the chair person of the fund why it was started.
