• The International Criminal Court (ICC) has issued arrest warrants for Libyan leader Muammar al-Qadhafi, his son Saif Al-Islam Qadhafi and intelligence chief, Abdullah Al-Senussi. They are accused of crimes against humanity in the ongoing conflict in Libya. An ICC spokesman says there is a lot of evidence to support the allegations.

• Madagascar, a country recovering from a major political crisis which devastated the economy, is facing a locust outbreak. The crop-devouring insects threaten the livelihoods of millions of people. The UN Food and Agriculture Organization and NGOs are helping to contain the outbreak.

Nigerian woman cancer survivor fights on

Cancer patient• Cancer is a leading cause of death worldwide, according to the World Health Organization. WHO says that deaths from cancer are projected to continue to rise to over 11 million a year in 2030. Oluwakemi Kehinde Oygbile a breast cancer survivor from Nigeria says more should be done to provide care for cancer patients.
