* Humanitarian supplies for people affected by the ongoing conflict in Libya are running low according to Panos Moumtzis, the UN Humanitarian Coordinator for Libya. He has just ended a third mission to Libya. He has reiterated a call for a humanitarian pause in fighting between pro-government and opposition forces.

* Thousands of people who have been displaced by the recent flare up of violence in the Abyei region of Sudan are in desperate need of food. Many of the displaced people have fled Abyei town to the south. The World Food Programme is warning that food supplies are running out.

* The government of Ghana  is making progress in providing healthcare services to its people. That's the conclusion of Anand Grover, the UN independent expert on the right to health who has visited the country recently. However, Mr. Grover points out  that there are still serious challenges in certain areas.
