HIV infection rate amongst youth running at 2,500 a day

HIV positive drug users with peer educators

Every day, 2500 young people are newly infected with HIV, the virus that leads to AIDS. That's according to a new report compiled by a group of United Nations agencies.

 The report, Opportunity in Crisis:Preventing HIV  from early adolescence to young adulthood, says that for many young people, HIV infection is the result of neglect and exclusion.

 Gerry Adams has been speaking with UNICEF's Pierre Robert.
