Basic agriculture tools can change women's lives

Twenty percent of grain is wasted in sub-Saharan Africa often because of a lack of technology, according to a new report produced by the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO).

Women play a significant role in agriculture across the world. The time they spend in fields could be radically reduced if the right technology was available. A very simple tool such as a hammer mill can make a huge impact in the lives of women who would otherwise spend hours grinding food by hand.

UN Radio's Radmilla Suleymanova asked Nancy Morgan from the FAO about the new study.
