African countries are being encouraged to consider the emigration of its citizens as a "gain" rather than a "loss".

It's estimated that 30 million Africans in the Diaspora send home up to $40 billion a year in remittances.

But the editors of a new book called "Diaspora" argue that these immigrants are contributing far more than just money.

The World Bank's George Collinet has been speaking to the editors of the book, Dilip Ratha and Sonia Plaza.

He began by asking Dilip Ratha about what Africans in the Diaspora can offer.
