World Press Freedom Day

Censorship of the media continues to grow across the world according to the UN Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization, UNESCO.

The organization has named an imprisoned Iranian journalist as the recipient of its 2011 World Press Freedom prize to highlight the problems the media faces reporting in different countries.

On World Press Freedom Day, Assistant Director-General for Communication at UNESCO, Janis Karklins, told Gerry Adams about some of the changes that have been taking place in the media over the past 20 years.
