United Nations staff in Tripoli, Libya, have been evacuated after the UN office there was attacked by a mob of people.

Civil unrest is continuing in the North African country as pro-democracy rebels continue their fight to oust the Libyan leader Muammar Qadhafi.

In April, the UN and Libya reached an agreement to set up a humanitarian presence in Tripoli; eight UN staff members were subsequently sent to the city.
