UN human rights experts want facts on Osama Bin Laden killing

Human rights investigators at the UN say they need to know all the details surrounding the killing of Osama Bin Laden.

They want to assess whether the use of deadly force against Bin Laden was in keeping with the standards of international human rights law.

Christof Heyns, the UN Special Rapporteur on extra-judicial executions, said although deadly force may be permissible in order to protect life, even those accused of terrorist crimes should be dealt with through the legal process.
