Tobacco users asked to quit for one day

World No Tobacco Day, 31 May 2011

Smokers around the world are being asked to put down their cigarettes and put away their chewing tobacco for World No Tobacco Day.

The World Health Organization is behind the event and says smoking and other forms of tobacco use causes serious health effects including cancer, heart disease, bronchitis and emphysema.

UN Radio's Radmilla Suleymanova took to the streets of New York to ask smokers whether they would be lighting up.
