Investigations are ongoing into the discovery of 10 graves near Abidjan, the capital of Côte d’Ivoire.

Some 70 bodies, predominantly male, were found in the graves a field where children once played football in Yopougon district, a suburb of Abidjan.

It appears, says Rupert Colville of Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights, that they were killed by pro-Laurent Gbagbo militia on 12 April the day after his capture.

He spoke to Patrick Maigua in Geneva.
