The indigenous people of Manipur in North east India are being pushed out of their land to make place for the construction of a dam.

This dam is the largest ever built in India, and it could drown the indigenous' land, and wipe out their entire culture and heritage.

Jiten Yumnam is a Meiteis- an indigenous person from Manipur- and human rights defender who is speaking out against this project.

He spoke to Jocelyne Sambira at a UN meeting in New York on the rights of the indigenous.
