Wreath-laying ceremony (2010)

A ceremony at the United Nations headquarters in New York is being held to remember all the peacekeepers who have lost their lives in the cause of peace.

May 29th is Peacekeepers' Day, and this year the focus is on strengthening the rule of law.

Julie Langlier is one of thousands of UN peacekeepers. She's Canadian and works for United Nations Volunteers in Timor-Leste. She says she loves her job:

"I'm very happy with my work, especially working with the human rights, trying to make a difference. I love working with grass-roots organisations, people who have passion for their work. I love to be outside in the field, to meet new people, with different opinions. I'm very happy."
