Call to move development away from "old thinking"

Grass roots organizations from across the globe are calling on the international community to find new ways to the help the world’s poorest people.

The organizations are meeting at the first major development conference of the decade which is taking place in Istanbul, Turkey, this week.

The United Nations conference which is being attended by heads of state, the private sector and civil society groups is focused on the 48 so-called Least Developed Countries of the world.
