WFP staffer killed in Southern Sudan
A World Food Programme worker has been killed in South Sudan following an ambush.
Senior Programme Assistant Santino Pigga Alex Wani was on mission with WFP when the vehicle he was travelling in was attacked on April 22 in Jonglei State.
WFP has been providing food assistance to 1.5 million people in Southern Sudan, as well as assisting returnees to the south, and helping communities to recover from decades of instability and conflict.
Mr Wani leaves behind a wife and a teenage son and daughter.
