A ship chartered by the World Food Programme (WFP) has delivered more than 500 metric tons of food, three ambulances, medical supplies and other relief items.

Andrej Mahecic from the UN’s refugee agency describes the situation…

“Parts of Misrata have had neither electricity nor water. Sniper fire, street clashes and shelling have prevented people from venturing outside of their homes to get food and medicine. “

A UNHCR chartered plane has also arrived in Benghazi carrying relief supplies including 21 hospital tents, kitchen sets and plastic sheets for shelter.
