The World Health Organization has brokered a draft agreement for drug companies and countries to share virus samples.

Daniel Dickinson reports.

The draft agreement paves the way for affordable vaccines to fight flu pandemics.

It came after an all night bargaining session in Geneva coordinated by the World Health Organization or WHO.

It follows four years after the deadly H5N1 virus, known as the bird flu, struck in southeast Asia.

World health ministers are expected to formally approve the deal at the WHO’s annual meeting next month.
