Côte d’Ivoire’s former president Laurent Gbagbo has surrendered to the forces of his democratically elected successor, Alassane Ouattara.
The surrender at the Presidential palace in Abidjan, follows months of political stalemate and increasing violence between forces loyal to the two men.
