The struggle for access to clean, safe water remains a significant problem for many people across the developing world. The building of a new water pump can be a major turning point for a small village.

To mark World Water Day on March 22nd this 1955 UN Radio Classics feature tells the story of how the World Health Organization helped to bring water to the village of Loma in El Salvador.
