Number of asylum seekers in industrialized countries declines

The number of asylum-seekers in the industrialized world has gone down to its lowest level in nearly 10 years according to the United Nations refugee Agency, UNHCR. Last’s year’s asylum figures were nearly half of those registered in 2001 when almost 620,000 asylum applications were made. UN Radio’s Patrick Maigua spoke to UNHCR’s Fatoumata Le-Jeune-Kaba about the decline.
