Douglas was at UN Radio studios in New York Thursday to discuss his efforts to help those affected by the earthquake and tsunami that hit the country on March 11th.

Douglas says the world needs to do more.

“I think many of us have been concerned about the international support financially, it’s curious versus what happened in Haiti and with Katrina probably as a result of people believing Japan up until recently, the second largest GDP in the world was economically able to come back itself.”

Japan’s police agency says more than 9,800 people are dead and another 17,500 are still missing following the disaster.
