That’s according to the head of United Nations peacekeeping operations Alain Le Roy, who is on a three-day visit to Indonesia.

Mr. Le Roy told reporters that Indonesian peacekeepers are serving in operations at the border between Israel and Lebanon, the Democratic Republic of the Congo and Darfur in Sudan.

“The most important part for me is to express my gratitude to Indonesia for their participation in peacekeeping. There are almost 1,800 Indonesian troops or police in peacekeeping operations. Indonesia is today number 14. In the whole United Nations out of 192 countries Indonesia is 14 in participation in peacekeeping.”
