The two-state solution would lead to the creation of two separate states for Israel and the Palestinians in land which is currently occupied by Israel.

The Quartet is made up of the United Nations, the European Union, the United States and Russia.

The meeting in Munich was attended by the UN Secretary-General, Ban Ki-moon.
