Kuwait builds "trust" with Iraq 20 years after invasion
Kuwait has been marking the 20th anniversary of the invasion by its neighbour, Iraq, and the subsequent liberation by forces from a number of countries. The small Middle Eastern state has since recovered from the shock and destruction caused by the invasion, but memories of the events two decades ago are still strong among Kuwaitis. Daniel Dickinson asked Mansour Ayyad Al-Otaibi, Kuwait’s Ambassador to the United Nations in New York about his personal memories of the invasion.
