Former President Charles Taylor's trial enters closing stages

The trial of former Liberian President Charles Taylor, who is accused of war crimes and crimes against humanity in Sierra Leone is entering its final stages.

Mr Taylor is facing an 11 count indictment for the crimes committed by rebels during the civil war in Sierra Leone between November 1996 and February 2002.

The rebels were notorious for chopping off people’s limbs.

To get an update on the trial, UN Radio’s Derrick Mbatha spoke with Solomon Moriba the spokesman for the Special Court for Sierra Leone in The Hague.
