Darfur Peace talks press ahead in Doha

Displaced SudanesePeace talks to resolve the crisis between the Sudanese government and Darfur rebel movement are pressing ahead in Doha, Qatar's largest city.

Approximately 300,000 people are thought to have died and at least two-and-a half million others displaced since fighting broke out in 2003 between Sudanese government forces and rebel movements.

Abioudun Bashua, the Director of Political Affairs in the joint United Nations-African Union Mission in Darfur (UNAMID) told our colleague Paul Omalla that negotiations between the government and the Liberation and Justice Movement (LJM) have made substantial progress.
