The goal of the training, taking place at the Judicial Academy in Zagreb, Croatia, is to enable judges in the region to handle complex war crimes cases.

The training is part of the 4 million euro War Crimes Justice Project (WCJP) funded by the European Union.

The ICTY is prosecuting people suspected of war crimes committed during the conflicts in the Balkans in the 1990s.
