Refugees fleeing Côte d'Ivoire

An appeal for 3.5 million dollars has been launched to provide humanitarian assistance to 16,000 people displaced by post-election violence Western Cote d’Ivoire. The International Organization for Migration or IOM which made the appeal has began registering the group and organizing a hosting site for them. The organization will also use the funds to repatriate migrants from Cote d’Ivoire’s five neighbouring countries in case the situation there escalates.  Earlier Jean Philippe Chauzy from IOM spoke to our colleague Patrick Maigua in Geneva, and gave more details on the scope of the work.
