Indigenous women fight for recognition and property rights

Forests play a huge role in our lives. If they were to disappear, we would face dramatic increases in temperature, moist areas would turn to desert, and water would be scarce.

Historically, indigenous women have been the guardians of forests, using their traditional skills to protect them and keep them alive.

Victoria Tauli-Corpuz, is the director of the Tebtebba Foundation for indigenous rights in the Philippines. Jocelyne Sambira asked her about the role of women in caring for the forests.
