Cancun success based on "intense commitment" to make deal
The success of the Cancun Climate Change summit in Mexico was due to an “intense commitment” from countries across the world to come to a deal.
After the perceived failure of the last summit in Copenhagen in Denmark, progress was made in a number of areas including curbing greenhouse gas emissions and the financing of climate change activities.
Robert Orr, the senior advisor on climate change to the United Nations Secretary-General attended the UN-backed summit.
