Assembly Demands Halt to All Violence in Syria

The General Assembly adopted a resolution expressing outrage at the rapidly increasing death toll of at least 70,000 in Syria; condemning the continued escalation in the use by the Syrian authorities of heavy weapons; and demanding that all parties immediately put an end to all violations of international humanitarian law. The resolution was adopted by a vote of 107 in favour to 12 against, with 59 abstentions.
